The words “thank you” often suggest that I’ve done something for you. Or you’ve done something for me. But that’s not quite true.
How strange this world can be, full of give and take, action and reaction, when perhaps things should simply flow with kindness and friendship. To give for the sake of giving, without expectation.
We fear what we do not know and we are shaped by what we have known. But when can we let go—of the past, the disappointments, the betrayals—and learn to trust again?
When we do, we will have won. We will expect nothing in return and give simply because it is in our hearts. Then we will understand what life is meant to be—love, friendship, care and trust.
But when does that day come? When can we let go, rise freely and release what we’ve learned to fear—so we can embrace again what we’ve known to love?
How strange this life is.
And now… to sleep, if rest is possible. If only there were rest in my heart—dreams of hope that touch the soul like gentle angel kisses.
Good night and may God bless us.
As for me, that ‘when’—the moment we stop fearing, stop keeping score and choose to give and trust again—is now.
